  • 11th juli 2025, Change in SWMS Review Frequency – WHS Compliance Requirements

As part of our ongoing commitment to effective Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) management and continual improvement under ISO 45001:2018, we advise that the formal review frequency for Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) is changing.
    Key change:
    • The scheduled formal review period for all SWMS will move from every 3 months to every 12 months (annually).
This change remains fully compliant with ISO 45001:2018, which requires that documented processes be maintained and updated as necessary to ensure their continuing suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness.
Reviews will still be triggered earlier if any of the following occur:
    • There is an identified risk to the business.
    • A significant WHS or unplanned event occurs.
    • Incident investigations or audit results demonstrate that the procedure is failing to deliver the required outcomes.
    • There are changes in associated legislation.
    • There is evidence the procedure is not positively impacting WHS-related KPIs.
    Important:
    • Regularly SWMS refresher training is to continue during toolbox talks, to ensure that workers remain familiar with key safety controls.
    • Any inconsistencies identified between site practices and the documented SWMS must be reported immediately to your Supervisor/Project Manager and the Company QHSE Systems Coordinator.
This change has been reviewed and approved by Management and is effective immediately.
Please ensure you communicate this update to your teams and continue to uphold the high standards of WHS management expected on all our sites.
If you have any questions or require further clarification, please contact [QHSE Systems Coordinator Name] or [Management Contact].
